Global health Clinical Process Outsourcing
(CPO®) giant Shearwater Health is now in Cebu IT Park, with a goal to augment its manpower within the year.
“We have been pleased
with the quality of work by our Cebu operations and personnel, so when the need
arose to accommodate a growing number of clients, we chose to expand and
transfer to a bigger and better site in Cebu,” said Anshum Sinha, Shearwater
Health Chief Operating Officer of CPO® and Country Manager.
Sinhia said at the
moment they have about 500 registered nurses working for them and before the
end of the year, they expect to hire 500 to 600 more. That is for their Cebu
offices only, he said.
The Philippines is
increasingly recognized as one of the best countries for outsourced solutions
because of their strong clinical and English-speaking skills, with Cebu being
one of the leading investment areas in the country.
“As we move to a bigger
location, we will definitely offer more job opportunities for highly-motivated,
career-driven, and hard-working nurses and clinicians. We are offering jobs for
about 500 USRN, PHRN, and Medical Coders,” said Sinha.
Shearwater Health has
been a leader in the BPO industry with a sole focus on healthcare, which is why
they trademarked the term CPO® (Clinical Process Outsourcing). They also
provide high quality clinical staff for healthcare providers, payers, and
companies requiring skilled clinical experience since 1973.
According to Shearwater
Health President and Chief Financial Officer, Tom Kendrot, there is a
significant nurse shortage in the United States with over 100,000 openings for
clinical experience in its healthcare industry, a gap that his firm seeks to
fill.
He said this shortage
will only grow and is projected to reach 200,000 by 2020. By outsourcing
clinical and administrative needs to Shearwater Health, various clients can
thus free up their current clinical staff to perform the highest priority
tasks.
Shearwater Health uses
clinically-certified staff from all over the world to meet the needs of
healthcare companies in the United States. The global giant boasts of over
2,000 clinicians in HITRUST-certified and URAC-accredited facilities in the
Philippines that operate in remote, dedicated teams for its clients.
Its clients include top
US healthcare and insurance companies and service providers, including 8 of the
top 10 health plans, 5 of the top 6 workers’ compensation Third Party
Administrators, over 20 healthcare service providers and managed care
organizations.
“We are always
expanding as a fast-growing company. We thus expect to open more sites in the
future,” said Kendrot.
“We plan on staying in
the Philippines market due to the high quality of healthcare professionals that
allow us to deliver clinical solutions to our clients,” he added. - PR
