Pinay creates red wine-based skin care line

Red wine is not only good for the heart, it is also good to the skin, or so says aethetician Suzette Good.

Born and raised in Camiguin Island, Suzette, 49, said she always had problems in choosing the right products for her sensitive skin. Then she met her husband, an American who owns a red wine company in America.

“While growing up I always had problems with my skin. I said I wanted to study which skin cares are good for you after trying all kinds of products,” she said.

“We know that red wine is good for the heart, right? So I thought may be it is also good for the skin,” she added in a press conference recently in Handuraw Restaurant in Mango Square, Cebu City.

She said her husband is “passionate about red wine, so my products’ main ingredients are red wine and grapes.”

Before she came up with her oen skin care line – the Suzette Skin Care, Suzette was a beautician for Christian Dior, Armani, and others.

Suzette, who is now based in the USA, said it took her and her friend, also an aesthetician, about five years to “perfect” their formulations.

“Then I had to test my products to see for myself. It was another one year before I decided that, ‘this is it’,” she said.

She said all her products are made from organic and natural green products, as she believes in the “hollistic approach” by using only non-synthetics.

The Suzette Skin Care line includes the Grape Seed Cleanser for cleansing, the Crushed Grape Seed Scrub for exfoliation, and the Red Wine Spritzer for toning.

For restoration, Suzette has the Red Wine Re-Vital Serum with Stem Cell and Dynalift (for restoration of the skin), the Firming Red Wine Serum and the Red Wine Concentrate with Noni.

It also has the Contouring and Soothing Eye Gel, the Red Wine Blueberry Age Defying Cream, and the Sunfit SPF 30.

For added better results, the line also comes with the Cherry Wine Face Smoothie and the Hydrating Cranberry Masque.

Suzette assured that although her products are formulated, produced and packed in the US, they are still “very affordable.” A kit of five of these products is currently sold in select outlets in Cebu at below P3,000.

She said she also gives a “money-back guarantee,” wherein after using and the customer is not satisfied with the results, they can just return the products and get their money back in full.

Suzette said that people don’t need to be beautiful, they just have to be happy with how they look.


“We say I’m happy with what I have but when we talk to people they look at our face. And they say, “Oh what did you do to your face? For me, I look at the mirror and I'm happy with how I look,” she said.
