"We want to offer them something new. Yung kaya sa bulsa, that they can take
and eat anywhere," said Arianne Ross Pombo, the restaurant’s regional
trade marketing for VisMin.
Pombo said they already have the crispy pata
and kare-kare in their menu. The servings for these are good for sharing with
friends and family, but because they want to serve more customers especially
those who are in a budget, “Max's is upgrading this style to bowls”, she said.
Each rice bowl is P199.

She said the rice bowls are served “for
individual cravings” and are available anytime of the day, for dine in,
delivery and take out.
The kare-Kare rice bowl is cooked plain rice
topped with slices of beef forequarter/beef chuck, oxtripe, balanced native pechay and strong beans. It is served
with slightly thick peanut sauce, sprinkled with ground peanut, spring onion
and served with Max's bagoong on top.
This order also comes with a glass of Pepsi.
The crispy pata rice bowl, meanwhile, comes
with golden-brown slices of fried, boneless crispy pata and fried banana
slices, another of the Filipino favorites. The meal is garnished with light,
golden-brown fried garlic bits and green chopped spring onions. It is served
with crispy pata soy-vinegar dipping sauce. It also comes with a glass of
Pepsi.
Pombo said the kare-kare and crispy pata are two
classic favorites of Pinoys in Max’s Restaurant when dining with friends and
family. She said these are “staples in all occasions, big and small,” but with
the rice bowls, even the solo eaters can also get to order and enjoy them.
