Ichiriki Chaya's onigiri |
Fujinoya is not just about coffee and
Japanese cakes. It also serves authentic Japanese food straight from the
kitchen of Ichiriki Chaya.
The two have recently volted in to create a one-stop
venue not only for Japanese individuals but also for Cebuanos who enjoy coffee
and Japanese food at the same time. Fujinoya is located in the food district of
Wilson St., Lahug, Cebu City.
Bea Evardone, Fujinoya’s marketing chief,
said Fujinoya used to only serve coffee and Japanese cakes; but when it noticed
that its clients would leave the coffee shop to get some real meals outside,
they decided to partner with another Japanese brand, which is Ichiriki Chaya.
Ichiriki Chaya, a Japanese restaurant in Cebu,
has been in the business for more than 10 years.
Ryoko Nagai, owner of Ichiriki Chaya,
introduced to the Cebu bloggers her famous onigiri, a tasty Japanese rice meal with
tuna mayonnaise inside. Onigiri is P90 in Fujinoya.
When you’re inside Fujinoya, you will be
given two menus: one for Fujinoya coffee and pastries and the other for
Ichiriki Chaya’s Japanese meals.
Riko Nagai, daughter of Ryoko, said they also
make sure that their products are affordable to everyone especially that a big
chunk of their regular customers are students, who come to the coffee
shop-cum-restaurant to study.
Ichiriki
Chaya also serves different kinds of ramen, maki, tempura and many others.
